The Focused Ultrasound Foundation is the only organization of its kind – a non-profit dedicated to advancing a medical technology. Focused ultrasound is an innovative, early-stage noninvasive therapeutic technology that is an alternative or adjunct to surgery, radiation and drug delivery. It has the potential to transform the treatment of a variety of serious medical disorders including tumors, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, back pain and hypertension, while improving quality of life and decreasing costs for patients around the world. The Focused Ultrasound Foundation was founded in 2006 to overcome multiple barriers to innovation by serving as the catalyst to accelerate the development of new clinical applications and the global adoption of this technology.
