Professional Bio
Dr. Jeremy Raley has served as the County Administrator for Goochland County since June 2025. With 28 years of experience as an educator, he has devoted his career to public service in a variety of leadership roles. His background includes work as a teacher, coach, school administrator, division-level leader as Superintendent, and state-level leader as Chief of Staff for the Virginia Department of Education. Before transitioning to his statewide role, Dr. Raley served the Goochland community as Superintendent for nearly seven years.
Dr. Raley holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the University of Virginia, where he was also a student-athlete on the Cavaliers’ football team. He went on to earn an additional master’s degree and a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from Shenandoah University.
He resides in Goochland County with his wife and their three dogs—Mazie, Marley, and Bella.
